Homework for Grade 6 will generally not exceed 30-45 minutes per school day. Homework will usually be set on Friday and will be due the following Friday. Occasionally a minor task will be due earlier in the week if we are using the information for a specific lesson in class.
The Middle School day begins at 7:30am and ends at 2:15pm. Students will not be allowed in the building until 7:15am. At that time they may go to their locker and proceed to their first period of the day, which begins at 7:30am. This is a MAJOR adjustment for 6th graders.

It was like, students worry about homework being too long to finish, then it said “If you do your homework before playing it will only take you a hour”. I’m like “An hour!!!”. It literally takes me 2.5 to 3 hours to do my homework.Sixth grade may be the first year of middle school and with that comes many adjustments and new encounters. Rigor and complexity increase as students are expected to utilize and sharpen the skills they have learned in the preceding grades in order to work at a high level and to prepare for high school, college, and career.
